Marvelgirl (Click to make bigger):

Image Image Image Image

Ashley Wampaugh, at the age of fourteen, found herself stricken with leukemia, and despite the best efforts of her physicians and cancer specialists, was slowly, but surely dying. Her father, Gerald “Gerry” Wampaugh, the chief of police in Westwoodland, Ohio, reached out to the only person he thought could help, his long-time friend Robert West, whom he also knew as Marvelman.

West was unclear as how he could help young Ashley, but the pain he saw in the eyes of her father made it plain to the Man of Might. Utilizing a piece of argonite to weaken himself, Robert performed a blood transfusion, taking out some of his blood and injecting it into the sick girl. Within minutes, Ashley was feeling better, and days later, and much to the puzzlement of her doctors, was completely cancer-free. And only Ashley, her father, and “Uncle” Robert knew why.

In the weeks to come, Ashley started displaying enhanced strength, speed, and resilience. Her senses were sharper, so much so that she could see right through other objects. She was even able to fly through the air with little effort. Most shocking was that Ashley’s hair, once gone from her chemotherapy treatments, was now growing back a lovely shade of purple. Robert West surmised, correctly, that his Delta-ray-infused blood had not only rid the teenager of cancer, but also left lasting aftereffects in the form of superhuman powers not unlike his own.

Robert, with her father’s blessing, began to help Ashley master her newfound abilities, and in time, the young girl wished to follow in the footsteps of her beloved “uncle” and idol Marvelman, and fight evil and injustice with her powers. Gerry Wampaugh and Robert both tried to discourage her, but she could not be dissuaded. Devising a unique costume reminiscent of Marvelman’s first uniform, and keeping her true identity a secret from everyone but her father and “uncle,” Ashley Wampaugh became the Maid of Might, Marvelgirl.

In one possible future, Ashley Wampaugh becomes Marvelwoman, the newest protector of Olympolis and a staunch member of that time period's Sentinels.

Marvelgirl to Marvelwoman:

Marvelgirl and Marvelwoman wer done in HeroMachine 3 Alpha. The few people who have been exposed to Delta radiation, Marvelman, Scourge, Sanctuary (the former Marvelboy), and Marvelgirl, all have something purple in their body. Marvelman has purple non-oxygenated blood, Scourge had purple oxygenated blood, Sanctuary has purple eyes, and obviously, Marvelgirl has purple hair. More to come, including a new collaboration with deadeas!

Fly Girl (Click on 'em):

Image Image Image Image

Leigh Ann Crenshaw was a suburban Texas girl who was enjoying popularity in high school and a spot on the cheerleading squad. Life was good for Leigh Ann, but all of that was about to change. At her fifteenth birthday pool party, Leigh Ann was bitten by a strange looking fly, which rendered her incredibly ill. Comatose for almost three days, Leigh Ann awoke in the hospital apparently no worse for wear. She went home and returned to her charmed life, but soon discovered significant changes to her body.

Leigh Ann was stronger, faster, and more agile than she had ever been. Her vision, at first blurred when she was discharged from the hospital, was now clear and razor sharp. In fact, she could see in all directions, including behind her. Weird secretions from her fingertips and toes allowed her to scale walls and cling to ceilings. The most terrifying change for Leigh Ann was the rapid growth of a pair of insect-like wings from her shoulder blades. Leigh Ann discovered that the thin, yet tough, membranous wings allowed her to fly, but she felt no choice but to hide her shocking new physical attributes from everyone, including and especially her family. Leigh Ann was forced to quit the cheerleading squad, and her popularity began taking a dip.

Dejected and distraught, the young girl felt alone and without purpose in the world. That was, until, Leigh Ann was forced to use her abilities to save the life of a fellow student, Darnell Atkins, from a would-be-mugger. Leigh Ann attempted to flee afterwards, but Darnell wanted to thank her and learn more about her insectoid powers. Darnell became Leigh Ann’s closest confidant, and it was Darnell who helped the girl adjust to her physical attributes and abilities, and not see them as a curse, but as a blessing. A newly confident Leigh Ann then decided to use her powers to help others in need. Devising a unique costume and mask to hide her identity, Leigh Ann Crenshaw became the crime fighter aptly known as Fly Girl.

Fly Girl was done in HeroMachine 3 Alpha. She was created to be a member of Teen Team, but following the start of my ongoing collaboration with Mister Magnetism, Leigh Ann Crenshaw was retconned into the McInerney family as the daughter of Macie McInerney, the former Magnetrix. And yes, that insignia looks more like a wasp than a fly. But, I kinda liked it. More to come!

I know I have a few things in the pipeline, but I've had another family medical crisis this week, and probably won't post anything for a while. I'll let you know when I do.
