Known only as Morning Star in her native Russian, their most powerful hero was born out of a dark secret;

At 4:43am, February 17th 1971 the Soviet nuclear power station at Sibirskaya experienced a full meltdown. The entire staff was killed, hundreds of technicians, scientists and others who were conducting tests at that late hour were snuffed out in a flash.

When the Red Army and Emergency troops arrived on the scene there was nothing there except a highly radioactive glowing female. They quickly determined that she was containing all the radiation that would have spewed into the atmosphere. It wasn't long before the KGB arrived and spirited the female away.

When she next appeared it was a Zvyezda Utrom and she was a member of the Prevoshodtvoy Sovet. Able to speak all the languages that were spoken by the staff it was determined that she was a gestalt of all the staff who had been vaporized. The now lived on through her.

Able to fly, generate powerful atomic blasts and nuclear force fields, she also has displayed a developing ability to control matter at the atomic level. The CIA and EAGLE list her as a "Class One" powered being.

While her personality is somewhat distant and reserved, the Kremlin has been given little reason to doubt her loyalty.

Without the benefits of a functioning Super Soldier program, the Soviets relied on seemingly random events to acquire super soldiers. One of those was a mutant girl, born in the village of Obninsk, site of the world's first nuclear reactor and she was code-named Red Dawn, or in Russian;

With her powers being able to absorb and convert energy, she quickly became a potent member of the Prevoshodtvoy Sovet and a darling of the Soviet media. She served Kamandier Sovetskick Sojuz with duty and respect. She also secretly loved him. It is not a well known fact, but her death came at the hands of Guardsman, who was trying to take down Kamandier Sovetskick Sojuz. This may have been the event that drove the Soviet super to truly hate America and the West. A statue of her overlooks Red Square.

In the frozen tundra of Northern Russian, a feral man was found by Red Army soldiers. He was wandering with no memory in a blizzard and his initial attack was so savage and ferocious that the soliders nick named his the "White Wolf". The name stuck;

Once the White Wolf was in confinement, the KGB arrived with a psionic operative who was able to make contact with the tortured mind. Whatever was learned through this has never been revealed but when it was over the man would come to be known as Byeluy' Volk (White Wolf) was signed up for the Prevoshodtvoy Sovet. Never willing to wear a marking of the Soviet Union, he remains an active if not enigmatic member to this day.

He is not known to have any powers, except seemingly being unable to be killed.

While America may have gotten most of the German rocket scientists at the end of the war, the Soviets managed not only to defeat the thunder god Thor, they also took his hammer. After years of trying, a lowly janitor from a farm combine was able to lift the hammer and take it as his name;

Image

Somewhere, deep in Siberia is a secret installation. Deep inside that installation is a tube. In that tube are the remains of the Norse God of Thunder, Thor. Thor had worked with the Nazis and been defeated by Kamandier Sovetskick Sojuz. His body and magical hammer spirited out of Berlin as the Red Army shelled it into the stone age.

For the next 10 years the KGB studied both the body and the hammer, but could not unlock its secrets. Then one night, a drunken janitor named Sergi needed a hammer to straighten out a bent metal cart leg... so he remembered that big one down on level 5. Without a second thought he did what no one human could do, he lifted the hammer and set about fixing his cart.

At first his superiors we angered, but soon enough smarter minds were on the task and Sergi became the newest member of the Prevoshodtvoy Sovet, Malatok! (Hammer in English)

Given super strength by the hammer, as well as the ability to use it to fly and to strike like thunder, he has not unlocked how to use it to control the weather or cast lightning bolts... something the KGB wants very badly and something the CIA fears greatly.

The final member of the original quartet lineup of Prevoshodtvoy Sovet is a man with tremendous telekinetic powers, in our language he would be called Sentinel, but it Russian he is;

Image

Born a mutant, Viktor Kiselyov did his best to hide his telekinetic powers from those around him. As a teenager, his father became trapped under a tractor after an accident and he found himself with no choice but to reveal those powers. Before the government could grab him though, he had run away and joined up with a unit that was fighting the German invaders.

He survived the war and returned home to his farm life. His peace would only last a few years though, as eventually the KGB got around to checking up on the report that had been filed about him during the war.

Taken from his home he was added to the Soviet super soldier program and when his powers were determined, he was given a costume and the code name Krasnuy Chassavon (Red Sentinel), he ignored the descriptive though, as a sign of defiance and was spared punishment thanks to the protection of Krasnuy Rasvyet, which in turn earned him the support of Kamandier Sovetskick Sojuz.

Always a more moderate man, he served with the team for ten years, but eventually left after earning enough influence to get himself an education and enter politics. To this day he serves as a member of the Communist Party, where he attempts to offset the zealotry of the hardliners.

Cool beans, I am behind on the Victory Squad first, so they get top billing, then PONY and then Renard Roux.

Should be on that next week.

To be honest the thing that slows me down the most is the individual name graphics. I may give that up, since it eats too much time.
