Shawn's view of the relations he has with the others in Ravenclaw.

Ambrosia:
Shawn respects Ambrosia about as much as he respects any authority figure, but he refuses to think that she didn't deserve her Prefect badge. They don't really interact that much, except when she's trying to reprimand him for something he did wrong. Shawn will admit it if he was out of line, but if he feels justified he'll be in her face just as fast as anyone else's.

Cass:
Shawn honestly sees himself as Cass' friend, even if he tends to annoy the other Ravenclaw incessantly in attempts to loosen him up The fact that Shawn always seems to be around when Cass makes a prediction about trouble, leading Shawn to find said trouble and dive right in, has not been lost on either boy. Cass seems to blame himself,while Shawn really sees it as trying to eliminate a threat before it can get to his friends.

Dan:
Shawn's best mate and constant boon companion, the two are pretty much inseparable, unless Dan's slipping off to hang with his other friends like Lando. While Shawn's Ravenclaw intellect seems to shine best when he's fighting, Dan is his "back-up brain" for when the situation requires a bit more finesse than Shawn can really muster (unless it comes to girls, then the two seem to be on semi-equal footing).

Nicolette:
She and Shawn have a hate/hate relationship. He hates how harsh she is to others, even if it is deserved sometimes, as well as her blasted pureblood superiority complex; and she hates the fact that he seems to be a lunk-headed mudblood whose only talents seem to be making trouble, hitting things, and making her House look bad. Even so, he's not about to let someone whale on her. Differances in world-views aside, she's still a Ravenclaw, and he'll be damned if he lets a Housemate get hurt because he stood idly by.

Eric:
Shawn is honestly confused by the shy and withdrawn boy. he simply can't wrap his mind around the fact that the guy is this freaking shy, even after four years of knowing him. He tries to draw him out of his shell, but his efforts more often than not backfire, and his slighty overbearing personality seems to scare eric just as much as anything else does. that doesn't stop Shawn from stepping in when he sees the other boy getting bullied. He's even ended up joining forces with Aeryn at one point against a gang of third year tough-guy wannabes that thought there was superiority in large numbers.

Ambrosia:
Nicolette and Ambrosia have had adjacent beds for 4 years now and have forged a solid friendship out of the arrangement. Nicolette allows herself to be a normal girl when she is with Ambrosia who is the closest friend Nicolette has ever had. Knowing this girl has made Nicolette behave more tolerantly, to her chagrin. Though she would be the last to admit it, Nicolette has become more like her bouncy romantic-hearted friend with every passing year.

Cass:
She likes him well enough though his abilities make her nervous and cause her to be somewhere else when he starts up. She is worried about the things the future could hold for her. Despite all this she would like to get to know him better.

Dan:
Out of every boy at Hogwarts, Danny is the one she cares for the most. He protects her, forgives her, and loves her like a sister. This means more to her than the obligatory love her own brother has for her. He does not study, he skips class, and he loves getting into trouble but Nicolette would not trade him for the world. She listens to him and he can often influence her one way or another.

Eric:
Nicolette loves Eric. Loves to stuff him into every nook and cranny she can find in the castle. The boy almost seems like he is looking to get bullied and she is happy to oblige. She feels that he has brought polluted blood into her house and makes the rest of them look like nerds.

Shawn:
Though he comes from inferior stock and has a violent streak a mile wide, Nic has a soft spot for the guy. He is her house mate and protects her while she isn't looking even though they fight like cats and dogs.

[Cassidy Chambers]

Ambrosia:
Cassidy respects her as the other Ravenclaw Prefect, but is intimidated by her appearance. Still, her gift for Astronomy makes her one of his favorite House-mates, because she actually understands what he's saying when the subject comes up. She also applies herself, which just increases his respect for her. He'd probably have a major crush on her if it wasn't for the existence of Professor Trelawney. She is, however, one of the few students he actually considers a real friend, though he still keeps her at something of a distance.

Daniel:
Cassidy likes his House-mate for his intelligence, but the other boy frustrates the hell out of him when it comes to applying himself. When Cass sees Dan slacking, he'll often try to nudge him in the right direction, which can be annoying.

Eric:
Cass thinks Eric needs to find some strength from somewhere, or he's afraid his classmate will muster out before graduation. He felt, when he first met Eirc, that the boy might actually open up to him a little, since Cass is pretty unimposing and harmless. Unfortunately, the first time Eric was in earshot when Cass doomsayed a classmate put an end to that, and Eric hasn't consciously been within arm's reach of Cassidy since.

Nicolette:
Cass sees Nicolette as a bit of a kindred spirit. Neither of them is particularly social, and they're both very intelligent, while lacking on real "smarts." Still, they tend to be wallflowers on different sides of the room, so while they occasionally acknowledge each other and exchange notes, they're not exactly close friends. The fact that they both are friends with Ambrosia does incourage more interaction than he'd normally expect, though.

Shawn:
Shawn annoys the crap out of Cassidy, but they're House-mates, so Cass makes due. It doesn't help that Shawn has a tendency to be nearby whenever Cass finds himself making predictions or trouble, which just leads Shawn right into the middle of it. So not only is Cass annoyed, but half the time he winds up blaming himself, which just frustrates him all the more.

Where things could be going with Cass this year:

Changes in outlook towards other Ravenclaws -

Shawn: My intent is for Shawn and Cass to become better friends this year. Cass is going to open up to him more if for no other reason than the fact that he feels incredibly guilty for Shawn being hit with the Cruciatus Curse, even though it hasn't really happened yet and might never actually transpire.

Nicolette: On some subconscious level, Cass knows that Nic holds the key to dream (her gift for CoMC). It was, after all, her voice that was explaining things to him about "Dark Creatures," though he hasn't really made that connection yet. Because of this, though, he's going to be trying harder to interact with her. If, through that interaction, he sees a "softer" side to her, he'll probably start crushing on her. She is, after all, a lot like his mom... but I'll wait and see how their interactions go before I make that decision.

Plot -

There is a bad guy gunning for Cass. Not being the "hero" type himself, I'm planning on keeping some of the more boisterous and impulsive folk active in bringing the guy down. The bad guy is particularly gifted in Care of Magical Creatures, and his embroilment in the Dark Arts has warped his affinity towards Dark Creatures.

The critters for his menagerie that I am intending to use are, in order: a Redcap (pretty easy to deal with), a Harpy (which, to the best of my research, there is no HP canon for, so I can pretty much just play with the concept), an Erkling (which I plan to include Aeryn in with), a Pogrebin, which will have a more personal and less confrontational resolution, and for the real "danger" at the plot's end, a Lethifold (thus why it's fortunate our DADA professor is teaching the Patronus Charm). Ultimately, in accordance with the dream, I want a show-down with the bad guy that includes at least Cass and Shawn, though depending on how things unfold there may be others involved.

[Dan DuMorne]

Cassidy:
I've got nothing against Cassidy, but in four years, I've never really connected with the bloke. He always seems to be a mite bit on the serious side, and could stand to loosen up a little. It seems to me he's fearful of his prophetic abilities, which only serve to wind his spring tighter. And lastly, he's always needling me to work harder, study more, clean up my bunk, and the like. As much as it bugs me, I gotta say, there are times I've hidden the text I'm studying just to mess with the guy.

Nicolette:
She's smart, she's aloof, and she's the one person in my house who's wound tighter than Cassidy. I imagine I'd like her well enough if she would warm up a tad. As it is, the only two things we have in common is a friendship with Ambrosia and an enjoyment of Wizards Chess.

Rose:
For the first couple years at Hogwarts, I had a crush on Rose, but never told anyone. In their third year, I decided that she was too good a friend to screw things up with an attempted romance, and let go those feelings. Now she's a sort of sister, and she and Lando MacFoozle are the closest things to siblings as I've ever known. She also seems to serve as the lynchpin of my connection to Cassady and Nicolette.

Shawn:
Rockhound is a good enough chap, but he really needs to cool his temper, especially when it comes to bullies. I suppose he's nearly my best mate within the house, but I'm often slipping away to run with Foozle, Tom, and Cee. Don't get me wrong, he's a great guy to have at your back, but he's too prone to thinking with his wand and fists, and I can find enough trouble without him dragging me into more...

[Ambrosia Sheridan]

Nicolette:
Their differences are only surface deep, and even then only in public. Rose knows Nic is a warm, caring, romantic at heart and she'd hex anyone who would dare to say otherwise. Nic is the first person Rose goes to with any event in her life, good or bad, and her favorite person to be girly with. Now if she could only figure out why her romance novels seem to disappear around her.

Cassidy:
He’s smart, he’s sweet, he loves Astronomy… what’s not to adore? And since he’s never teased her about her love for hopeless romances, Rose is sure he wouldn’t mind that she’s had many daydreams about him returning to school as an adult and sweeping Professor Trelawney off her feet.

Dan:
A girl can never have too many brothers… even if it does leave her dateless. Despite his slackerness, Dan is one of Rose’s dear friends and she can’t wait to start putting in a good word or five with the Llewelyn’s on the whole Dan and Cecilia issue. After all, if they got married then everyone would practically be related.

Shawn:
Yeah, he gets in trouble more often than he should. But he’s a Ravenclaw and she does her best to make sure no one forgets that. Maybe he just needs a friend to help calm him down a little.

Eric:
One way or another she’s going to help him make more friends. Rose has always known what a nice person he is; now it’s just a matter of making sure everyone else knows it too.

Shawn- He keeps trying to be my friend, but something bad always happens. I don't want any trouble, I already get enough of it on my own.

Nicolette- One glance from her icy cold stare made me pee my pants in first year. She belongs in Slytherin! Send her there please and save me!

Cassidy- He can predict the future from his mind. He doomsayed some poor kid! No thank you!

Dan- We've had some pretty intelligent conversations together and we've been Potions partners countless times.

Rose- Love. I have had a major crush on her since year two, but she hasn't noticed the signals I've sent out. We've been friends since a play date he had when we were little. Without a doubt, my closest friend.

Dan and I had something planned with Lethifolds in the first place, which is why we wanted to teach the Patronus-- but from what you sent me, yours makes much more sense, plot-wise, then ours did.

I'm going to be moving things along at a specific pace, so as not to utterly crush role-play with plot, but I'm more than happy to include people... heck, I could send a whole swarm o harpies instead of just one if that's what it comes to.
